Correct transition in golf swing
Having the Correct transition in golf swing is vitally important. People that hit from the top and cast the club typically do so because their weight isn’t travelling in the same direction as the golf club. They are hitting instead of swinging. Because of this they don’t shift the weight onto the lead foot in the transition and in turn this will mean a lack of centrifugal force or lag in their downswing.
Drill for lag and transition in the golf swing
A great drill to create lag and centrifugal force is to shift the weight onto the lead foot as the club is still traveling upwards, you have to make sure that as you do this the wrists are relaxed, this will get the head of the club lagging behind the hands on the downswing putting you in a position where the left arm and the club are in one straight line on impact.
